Hello! I’m Abby Wirtz. I have worked as a veterinary assistant for the past 2 years while simultaneously studying Animal Sciences at Purdue University. I plan to pursue a degree in Veterinary Nursing and graduate with my RVN license. I was raised with an immense passion for the livestock industry, which fuels my desire to provide the best possible care for animals in my care. I have 2 dogs, a Walker Coonhound named Jaxie, and a Dalmatian/lab mix named Cash. In my free time I love going to rodeos, fishing, hunting, and taking my dogs on hiking trips!

Hello, My name is Mercedes Brunton, I am a student at Purdue University majoring in Animal Sciences with a concentration in Pre-Veterinary. From the time that I could talk, my dream has been to one day become a mixed animal veterinarian in Benton County. I strive to be a servant leader and to assist those around through my passion for animals and helping others. Through my ten years of 4-H and involvement in the FFA, I have been surrounded my entire life with a wide range of species: horses, goats, sheep, swine, dogs, and cats. I help manage my family farm where I have gained an immense knowledge and skill which has only strengthened my love for animals and my interest in veterinary medicine. I have job shadowed and assisted local veterinarians on emergency calls with small and large animals. In my free time you can often find me studying, showing horses on the Palomino Circuit, showing livestock.
Hi, I’m Heather. I will be starting my third year of veterinary school at Purdue University this Fall. My interests in veterinary medicine are small animal family practice and small ruminant medicine. Prior to moving to Lafayette, I completed my bachelor’s degree at the University of Minnesota Crookston, majoring in Animal Science and Biology. In my free time I enjoy spending time with my husband, knitting, and hiking. We have a Crested Gecko named Butters and hope to adopt a retired racing greyhound in the near future.
Hey everyone, my name is Chelsi. I am currently a student at Ivy Tech majoring in Business. I started working at O.G.V.C. in August behind the scenes. I come into the vet clinic at the end of business hours and make sure everything is clean, put away and ready to go for the next day. I enjoy making sure the vet clinic is as functionally ready as possible for your pets needs. If I am not in the vet clinic you will probably catch me babysitting, working on school homework, or enjoying spending time with my horses, cattle, dogs and cat.
